A rollercoaster week
If I'm honest, it's been a week of massive lows followed by some highs. I can't go into details about the lows other than too say that they are work related. However, ever the consumate professional, I'll just get on with it. I'm done talking about it, I've talked it through with the people who matter to me but it does change your opinion and your focus, anyway, end of! Andy and I had a lovely start to the week making the most of his three nights here before he went off to Amsterdam with the boys on Thursday morning. He was hilarious on Wednesday though, every time the door bell went, all I got was "them pesky kids!", miserable sod. We also spent some time chatting about our theme for the NYE party, finally settling on "Wicked wild, wild west" which should be great fun.Friday night the girls came round with the kids and we had singstar battles and fireworks. I bravely offered to light the fireworks which was very liberating (though apparently I looked like I was about to pap myself when I ran away after lighting it!). We were so chuffed with ourselves for managing fireworks without the boys, get in !!!Andy's had me in bits with his texts and calls from Amsterdam, he was gutted because one of the bars they love "Teasers" has closed, all the peep shows have gone and only one "show" remains. He said all the "Culture" has gone !!!Oh god love him, I think his liver will need some serious rest when he gets back. He always scores how he feels the day after drinking percentage wise (so 100% is feeling fine) and yesterday morning he was only at 3%, worrying !!!Anyhow, I blitzed the house on Saturday, got it all spotles then set off to Leeds for a night out with Vicky. I was really looking forward to it because after such a tough week, I knew it was just the tonic I needed and I wasn't wrong !!! We popped into Leeds, grabbed a quick coffee and got in a quick shopping fix. I bought two pairs of killer heels and a top, just what the doctor ordered. Having brought Vicky up to speed on everything and receiving some very sound advice, we got ready for our night out. She'd booked us into the Restaurant bar and grill which was beautiful It's in the old Post Office in Leeds, they've done a terrific job of restoring the building sympathetically and balanced it with a great contemporary style for the restaurant. So, we had some beautiful food, a bottle of wine and some more coffee before heading off to Room for cocktails. I adored my fig roll and Vicky was buzzed up by her Room stimulant !!! We had always intended to end up in Mojo so we set off on the hike across Leeds (in bloody stormin heels !!!) and while we were walking across, some tw*t grabbed Vicky's boob, which was sooooooooooooo disrespectful and she got quite upset by it. I wouldn't let her give into her tears though because then it's like admitting defeat to the idiots that feel that's ok, even his mates said "you can't do that" but hey, some guys are just c**ts aren't they?We got into Mojo and went up to the Rhum room which was cool, a little more chilled than the downstairs bar and we got a couple of bar stools to perch on (at which point I stated I was there for the night, great music, great company and a stool so I wasn't on my heels !!!). After about half an hour a group of guys came in and we got chatting to them, they were out wetting the baby's head for one of the guys and were on fine form. It made it a cracking night, we laughed, sang, had such a good time, they were a great bunch really good fun. We'd planned to leave at about 1.30 but ended up staying to the end !!! God love her Vicky makes me laugh, when the guy was showing her the picture of his little girl, she was so unimpressed so I had to do a whole, "oh isn't she gorgeous" (which she was) bit to placate him, he was devasated, lol !!!!!It really was the tonic I'd been looking for, we laughed so much, over dinner I'd been regaling her with stories from Mum's trip to London and how everyone at work was and then we find a great bunch of guys to have a giggle with, great, great night. Though it has to be said, i think I may have had one too many long island ice tea's as I felt somewhat nauseous at about 7am this morning. I turned over in bed and prayed to go back to sleep !!!!Thankfully when we got up i was feeling tons better, so the drive home wasn't too painful. Back home, washing done, chilling watching strictly from last night I'm now waiting for my boy to return. I can't wait to see him, I've missed him so much I really have but no doubt he'll be driving me bonkers after about an hour !!!Anyhow, back to work tomorrow, lets see what the week brings eh??
